Anton Memorial National Tunnel When traveling to Whittier, please make sure to check the tunnel schedule prior to arriving. Sometimes there is maintenance and/or construction, and you’ll need to plan accordingly.

If traveling to Whittier the day of your fishing departure, make sure to catch the 6:30am tunnel or 5:30am tunnel. You may purchase your Fishing Licenses online at: www.adfg.alaska.gov Make sure to have a printed copy of your fishing license on hand prior to your fishing departure.

Non-Resident Anglers under the age of 16, do not need to purchase
a sport fishing license, but are required to record their harvest on
their harvest card (Captain provides on the boat) or you may obtain
online. This also applies to AK residents under the age of 18

Tunnel Fee: $13.00 roundtrip (In/ Out of Whittier)

whether or not they are willing to wait another hour to depart the

other paying customers who booked for a full day’s trip. Arriving
late results in time away from fishing for others that arrived on time.
There are NO refunds should you miss the tunnel. NO

for the ride”, “they are 3 yo”, “can they go for free”? NOPE! MAX.
6 passengers. The F/V Strait Crazy is a 12-passenger boat MAX.
How We Fish
We do not typically target the 32″ Halibut. We try to target Halibut
that are above average size so everyone on the boat catches
something better than the status quo. It is not normal to catch
Halibut under 32″ where we target larger Halibut. This requires us to fish differently than other boats you might have been on in the past.
We cannot and will not PARTY fish. Party fishing means that you
would be fishing for a boat limit of fish and not an individual limit.
It is against the law to do so and we do not allow it on our vessels. If
you choose to fish with us, the normal routine is that once you catch
a keeper size Halibut, you stop fishing for bottom fish until we
move to a different location to target other species. Typically, when
you fish on a spot there is only so many keeper sized Halibut down
there and if you have already caught a keeper and continue to fish
on bottom, most likely you will catch another Halibut. However, we
will have to release it because of the PARTY fishing rule. Then what
happens is somebody on the boat stands a greater chance of going
home empty handed. In order to be fair to everyone, we fish like this
in ALL of our mixed group trips. If you do not like this idea, then
Crazy Rays Adventures, LLC probably isn’t the right charter for
you. Now, if you would like to do something different than our
normal routine, we are definitely up for that, it’s more convenient to
have all 6 or 12 anglers on the boat of the same party (whole boat
reservation), this needs to be discussed at time of booking and in the
morning with your Captain so that he can lay out the day
accordingly. For any questions, please feel free to contact our
booking office at 907-315-5382, or Captain Crazy Ray
at 907-355-3182.
PRELIM HALIBUT REGS FOR 2021: Halibut retention is
permitted 6 days a week. NO HALIBUT RETENTION ON

fish equal to or less than 32 inches; No annual limit. Wednesday
closures. Maintain the limit of 1 trip per Halibut charter vessel per
day and 1 trip per charter Halibut permit per day.
LINGCOD: starts July 1st – December 31
On a mixed group trip, Lingcod will be targeted if weather is
optimal and if time allows. Where we go fish for Lingcod is mainly
OFFSHORE. On all our mixed group charters, Halibut is ALWAYS
the primary target. If Lingcod is your primary target, this leans more
towards a custom charter, then we strongly recommend you reserve
the whole boat.
Lingcod limit is 1 per day, 1 in possession, minimum 36” long with
head attached. Fish and Game requires 35”, on our charters WE
require 36” due to the possibility post mortem, Lingcod tend to
shrink.
ROCKFISH: 4 per day, 8 in possession, only 1 per day, 1 in
possession may be non-pelagic
KING SALMON: 2 per day, 4 in possession, no size limit. If you’re
primary target is King Salmon, then trip needs to be booked as
primarily King Salmon Charter. Kings are not targeted on our daily
multi species trips (Halibut and Rockfish) due to the set-up it
requires on the back of the boat and the location we travel to target
them
SILVER SALMON: 3 per day, 3 in possessionSALMON SHARK: 1 per day, 1 in possession. There is an annual
limit of 2 sharks. (Custom Charter Only) MAX. 4 PASSENGERS
